Dollinger Family Farm
Welcome to the 22nd Annual Dollinger Farm/Channahon Park District Civil War Days Reenactment
sponsored by the Dollinger Family Farm and the Channahon Park District. All of the hosting units
are proud to be part of this event which is scheduled for the weekend of October 21st-22nd, 2017.

We continue to strive to make this event the best civil war era reenactment not only for our
reenactors but for the Northern Illinois area general public who have attended this event year after
year with great support. All participants are strongly urged to thoroughly read and understand all
sections of the rules and policy section before submitting your registration to the Dollinger Farm
Civil War Day's event. In 2017 all registrations will be submitted via this web site. All information
traditionally provided in our registration packet is available here. We ask that you thoroughly read
your packet and submit your registration via our website; you will receive a confirmation e-mail
stating you have been registered. The Dollinger Farm/Channahon Park District Civil War Days
Committee try to make this event one of the best Illinois has to offer and wish to thank all our
returning participants to the Farm. PLEASE NOTE: All military units will be located up on the hill
Again, this year we have a full reenactment planned starting with area schools arriving on Friday
to participate in programs designed for primary, middle and high school level students. Amenities
include one of the best reenactor meals anywhere on Saturday night. Other amenities include
wood, straw, hay and water. Our Civil War Ball will be on-site again this year with a wonderful
band. It will be an occasion everyone will enjoy, so please bring your family or that special
someone and dance the night away at the Dollinger Farm Ball.
The Dollinger Farm/Channahon Park District Civil War Days Reenactment does not store powder or
have powder for artillery bounty. Instead we pay a cash allowance to each invited participating
artillery unit, paid by check to the owner of the artillery piece or pieces on Sunday morning.
Artillery and Cavalry unit participation is by invitation only and at the discretion of the respective
Federal and Confederate brigade staffs. If you would like to be invited, you must contact your
Brigade commander [1st Brigade, Illinois Volunteers [Federal] or Copperhead Legion
[Confederate]] for an invitation. Cannon bounties will be $100 for full scale, 57" wheeled guns and
$50 for full scale mountain howitzers and the like. Cavalry bounties will be $50.00 per horse (must
have proof of coggan's test at check in. Bounties will be paid to invited uint if registered prior to
September 28th. If you register after this date there is no guarantee of a bounty being paid to your
unit. ALL ATTENDEES SHOULD REVIEW THE EVENT RULES PAGE FOR CHANGES.
At the event in 2017 we hope to have a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy and of course, to
learn some Civil War era history as well. A battle will take place at 2:00 p.m. as usual on Saturday

policies. Invited sutlers will receive a separate registration containing pertinent information as
well.We've also included a resource link above for local lodging and places of commerce.
